MENSREA Featuring GWAR Members: New Song Posted Online
February 3, 2008MENSREA, the Richmond, Virginia-based band featuring Cory Smoot (a.k.a. Flattus Maximus) and Nate Krishna (a.k.a. SlaveDogg) of GWAR on guitars, has posted a new song, "Wretched", on the group's MySpace page. The track comes off MENSREA's forthcoming album, "Media Coil Interrupt", due in April.
While never comfortable describing its sound or songwriting process, MENSREA's music is said to be "often a schizophenic rain dance of metal and hardcore archtypes. Busy thrash riffs along doom-laden, crushing grooves give way to experimental, if not jazz-induced, instrumental passages."
MENSREA will hit the road heavy and strong to support "Media Coil Interrupt", including several U.S. festival appearances as well as a summer tour with thrash metal unit MOBILE DEATHCAMP (featuring Todd Evans a.k.a. Beefcake The Mighty of GWAR) and Chicago melodic death metallers INOCULA. Several dates are already confirmed but have not yet been released.
